Château de Pray. Amboise, France.
A troglodyte Michelin one star restaurant next to a 13th Century castle. The food and service were art. Very expensive and worth every penny.
La Champignonnière du Saut aux Loups. Montsoreau, France.
(Translation: The place where mushrooms are cultivated and the wolves jump.) If you like the idea of eating in a cave inexpensively. Mushrooms are grown in the caves on site. You can have a tour. The Galipettes (large stuffed mushrooms) are baked in an oven that is also right in the rock. They are heavenly.
La Crêperie Bretonne. Paris, France.
Warm setting, so many delicious crêpes that are hearty, savory or sweet.
Het elfde gebod. Antwerpen, Belgium.
(Translation: The eleventh commandment.) Filled with cathedral statues and relics, it’s right next to Antwerpen’s main cathedral: Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal.
Rauða Húsið. Eyrarbakki, Iceland.
(Translation: The Red House.) Built in 1919 as a retail store, Rauða Húsið is where I had the best lobster of my life. Located in southwest Iceland 45 minutes south of Reykjavík.
Coop’s Place. New Orleans, Louisiana.
The best jambalaya of my life. Very busy place. They move people through quickly, but expect a line.
